Attendance
We have high expectations for our pupils’ attendance, and ensure that it is everyone’s business at The Winterton Federation. We also recognise that, where attendance needs to be improved, we need to work in partnership and support our families to help remove any barriers.
We offer a variety of support across the Federation that can help with attendance:
Breakfast Club, After-School Clubs, bagel breakfasts, pastoral support, therapy dogs, soft starts, staggered times across the Federation, bereavement counselling, emotional literacy and much more. Please ask if you feel you need support.
If you want to discuss a general concern that might be impacting your child’s attendance, we operate an open-door policy, and our staff are on hand at the beginning and at the end of the day, so please speak to their class teacher in the first instance.
There are also specific staff to support with specific barriers:
If you are concerned about your child’s attendance, but aren’t sure what is impacting it, then please contact our Attendance Officer.
If you are concerned your child’s SEND needs are impacting on your child’s attendance, then please contact our SENDCO.
If you are concerned your child’s mental health or wellbeing is impacting on your child’s attendance, then please contact our Pastoral Team.
If you are concerned that your family’s finances are impacting on your child’s attendance, then please contact our Business Manager.
